Host an event in the Black Country Business Festival

Organisations can now apply to run events during the new Black Country Business Festival - taking place from 23rd April to 4th May 2018.

The annual festival - driven by the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, will spearhead the Black Country Business calendar with a packed programme of exciting events run by businesses from across the region. Over 7,500 people are anticipated to attend events over the fortnight.

Applications to host events can be made on-line via the Festival’s new website which launched on Monday 17th July. Around 100 events are expected over the fortnight and already there have been some applications submitted.

Alister de Ternant, managing director of Associate Events –the organisation managing the Business Festival said "The launch event [at The Lighthouse on 30th June] was thoroughly inspiring and showed there is a real appetite in the Black Country for this Business Festival.

"Furthermore, the application process opened on Monday and already, we have had a handful of events submitted, which is very exciting to see. This really is going to be the most prolific event in the Black Country business calendar.

“I urge all businesses large and small, from across the region, to spare a few moments over the summer to look at the website www.blackcountrybusinessfestival.com and see how they can get involved."

Any business can apply to run an event – which can take any shape from a seminar or workshop through to a trade show or major conference. Every event is being organised to ultimately benefit the people and businesses in the Black Country and help local economic growth.

Adrian Wright, president of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce said, “The Business Festival will provide a stage for the Black Country to showcase the colourful range of businesses that proudly make up the Black Country, with a full mix of events across traditional industries and new sectors.”

“This is a growing region that has seen massive investment. New industries have established themselves and are growing and thriving because of this commitment to regeneration. The Business Festival will really showcase the unparalleled opportunity that our economy has to offer to the rest of the world.”

Corin Crane, chief executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce said, “Everyone needs to get involved whether this is supporting the Festival as an event partner, hosting an event or offering free venues where other Black Country organisations can hold their events.

“We are incredibly proud of our area, our heritage, our businesses and the can-do attitude of our people. Now is the time to stand on a national stage and show the rest of the country what a brilliant place the Black Country is to live, work, do business and most of all invest.

“We need to raise our heads above the parapet and shout about what our region has to offer, because this is the Black Country!”
